According to the indictment, on March 1, 2012, Nicholes possessed methamphetamine and cocaine base (also known as crack cocaine) with intent to distribute in Yuba County.
This case is the product of an investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation Safe Streets Task Force, the Yuba Sutter Narcotic Enforcement Team-NET 5, and the Yuba City Police Department. Assistant United States Attorney Jill Thomas is prosecuting the case.
If convicted of the methamphetamine offense, Nichols faces a term of 10 years to life in prison and a $10 million fine. The cocaine drug offense carries a statutory maximum prison term of 20 years and a $1 million fine.
