Elk Grove Police Arrest Probationer on Suspicion of Car Theft, Possession of Stolen Check

A traffic stop on early Saturday morning led to the arrest of a probationer on multiple felony charges.

According to Elk Grove Police, 39-year old Christopher Robert Culcasi was operating a vehicle that was stopped for a code violation near Golden Sage Drive and Sheldon North Drive. A records check revealed Culcasi revealed was on probation.

A search of the suspect led to the discovery of a burglary tool and possession of a check not issued to him. Officers also determined Culcasi was operating an unreported stolen vehicle.

The suspect was arrested and booked into the county jail where he remains in custody on four felony and one misdemeanor charge and a $70,000 bail.
