Elk Grove Drunk Driving Suspect Hits Parked Car, Police Use Bumper Left at Scene To Locate Him


An Elk Grove man suspected of drunk driving was arrested early Sunday morning after he hit a vehicle and while leaving his car's bumper at the scene.

Elk Grove Police officers were dispatched to the 8700 block of West Knoll Drive after receiving a report of a driver who struck a parked car and fled. Responding officers located the front bumper, along with the front license plate, at the scene. 

Officers responded to the registered owners address and contacted 28-year old Kevin Hoang. Upon contact, Hoang allegedly displayed objective signs of impairment. 

The vehicle involved in the collision was also located at the residence. After being medically cleared, Hoang was arrested, and booked into the county jail and has been released on bail.
