Traffic Stop by EGPD Leads to Arrest of Unregistered Sex Offender

A traffic stop late last night led to the apprehension of an improperly registered sex offender in Elk Grove.

According to Elk Grove Police, 50-year old Ferd Whitford was a passenger in a car that was stopped for a vehicle code violation on the 8400 block of Elk Grove Boulevard. A records check revealed that Whitford had two active felony arrest warrants.

Bradford was arrested and booked into the county jail where he remains in custody for properly failing to register a new address as a convicted sex offender and accessory after the fact to a crime. He is not eligible for bail.

can you clarify who exactly the suspect(s) are, your article identifies a Ferd Whitford, 50yo arrested on outstanding warrants and then later a Bradford arrested in failure to register and violating probation with no additional information as to who Bradford was in the scenario (driver, passenger, witness)...
