An Elk Grove business owner was assaulted yesterday morning by a former employee.
According to Elk Grove Police reports, 35-year old transient Ruben Corpuz was seen behind the victims business on the 8700 block of Elk Grove Boulevard and reportedly acting strangely. When the victim approached Corpuz, he was punched in the face several times and struck in the head repeatedly with a metal ashtray causing visible injuries.
Responding officers detained Corpuz and discovered him to be in possession of narcotics and paraphernalia. The suspect was arrested and transported to the main jail.
