Instead of being in school yesterday afternoon, three Elk Grove juvenile males were arrested for stealing a car.
According to Elk Grove Police reports, the three teenagers, aged 15(2) and 17, were seen driving away from a residential burglary in a car that had just been stolen. A witness followed the trio and saw them collide with a pole on the 8400 block of Villeneuve Drive.
After hitting the pole, the three suspects fled on foot and responding officers established a perimeter. While searching for the suspects, a vehicle drove into the area and picked up the suspects.
After stopping the vehicle, officers arrested the three teens who were then transferred to juvenile hall.
