A Sacramento man is being held at the county jail after a shoplifting incident at an Elk Grove grocery store revealed outstanding arrest warrants.
According to Elk Grove Police, 20-year old Joseph Richards of Sacramento was observed shoplifting at the Nugget grocery store on Elk Grove Boulevard. After Richards left the store, he was approached by a loss prevention employee and a struggle ensued.
After Richards was detained, a records check by responding officers found he was on probation and had outstanding arrest warrants. Richards is being held at the county jail and is facing charges for possession of controlled substances, robbery and violation of probation and is not eligible for bail
