An Elk Grove man was arrested early yesterday afternoon after he allegedly inflicted corporal injury on his spouse and for child endangerment charges.
According to Elk Grove Police, 21-year old Jose Alejandro Escobar was involved in a verbal argument with his victim that escalated into a physical confrontation. During the altercation, Escobar allegedly grabbed the victim's hair and pushed her face into the passenger side dashboard several times in front of their children.
When they arrived home, the victim went inside the residence and locked the doors, hid in a bedroom closet and called 911. While the victim was on the phone, Escobar forced his way into the closet, pulled the pulled the victim out of the closet, and destroyed her cell phone.
Escobar then allegedly dragged and choked the victim resulting in suffered visible injuries. Escobar was arrested and booked into the county jail where he remains in custody on bail of $50,000.
