Tentant, Landlord Dispute Lands Wanted Man in Jail

A Sunday afternoon dispute between and landlord and a tenant led to the arrest of a Sacramento man who was wanted for an outstanding arrest warrant.

According to Elk Grove Police, officers responded to a call regarding a dispute between 44-year old Reginald Shepard and his landlord. When officers arrived they observed the suspect removing his belongings from the residence.

After the landlord gave officers permission to search the residence, a loaded rifle was found in the room occupied by Shepard. A records check revealed that Shepard was a felon and had an outstanding arrest warrant.

The suspect was arrested and taken to the county jail where he remains in custody on a bail of $65,500.
