Elk Grove Police Report Calm Monday Following Last Week's Crime Spike

Following a tumultuous week, the City of Elk Grove enjoyed a relatively calm start to the month of February.

According to the Elk Grove Police Department's daily crime summary, during the 24-hour period ending at midnight, there were no reported arrests on Monday in Elk Grove. The Monday calm was preceded by a week of headline grabbing crime events in Elk Grove.

On Thursday afternoon, police responded to a multiple-location gang-related shooting incident that resulted in the arrests of four suspects. On Friday night there was a shooting incident that ended when the shooter turned the gun on himself.

Earlier last week a student walking home from Franklin High School was robbed at gunpoint and an Elk Grove Police officer was involved in a shooting incident in the Vineyard area outside of Elk Grove city limits.
