With the assistance of the California Highway Patrol, Elk Grove Police were able to apprehend a man sought for the burglary of an Elk Grove residence.
According to police reports, Elk Grove officers responded to the 5600 block of Foxview Way regarding a residential burglary that had just taken place. Officers arrived and contacted the resident who provided a description of the suspect.
As the suspect fled the location, he pushed the victim to the ground and fled fled in a vehicle that was later stopped by a CHP officer. The suspect, 29-year old Jeffrey Barrera of Sacramento, was positively identified by the victim as being responsible for the burglary.
Officers also located a backpack that had been thrown onto the street that contained property taken during the
burglary. Barrera was arrested and booked into the county jail and is being held on $60,000 bail.
