An Elk Grove man was arrested early last night after he was allegedly involved in an accident while drunk driving.
According to Elk Grove Police, 53-year old Wayne MacKenzie was driving a vehicle that was involved in an accident hitting two light poles near Harbour Pointe Drive and Maritime Drive. After colliding with the poles, MacKenzie fled the scene but was followed by a person who contacted police.
Officers located Mackenzie operating the vehicle in the 2200 block of Cermak Way. Upon contact, the suspect displayed objective signs of impairment and performed poorly on a field sobriety tests.
MacKenzie was arrested and has been released on bail.
