Three children, led by an 8-year old girl, decided to seek help at the Elk Grove Police department after their mother left them in an Elk Grove park on Tuesday afternoon.
According to Elk Grove Police, the 8-year old, along with her two brothers ages 3 and 1, were left at a park near the Elk Grove Police Department. Officers were able to determine that the children were left at the park by their 35-year old mother who was attending a meeting.
Officers determined that the mother was not able to observe her children from
the building where the meeting was taking place. The mother was arrested on California Penal Code PC 273A(A), felony child endangerment.
The three children were placed into protective custody.
