Elk Grove Parolee in Custody Following Suspected Domestic Violence Incident

An Elk Grove parolee is being held in custody following a suspected domestic violence incident.


According to Elk Grove Police, 35-year old Habiballah Sykes was involved in a verbal argument with his victim early Tuesday morning that escalated to a physical confrontation. During the altercation, Sykes allegedly slapped and threw the victim to the ground resulting in visible injuries.

Following the incident, Sykes fled the scene and was located a short distance away by responding officers who arrested him and took him to the county jail. 

The bail has been set at $575,000, but since Sykes violated terms of his parole, he is ineligible for release
