Suspected Elk Grove Shoplifter Threatens Store Employee With Knife

An Elk Grove man was arrested after he allegedly shoplifted and threatened a store employee with a knife.

According to Elk Grove Police, 49-year old Ronald Wooten was reportedly observed shoplifting at the Rite Aid Drug Store on the 7200 block of Elk Grove Blvd. When the store's loss prevention officer attempted to detain him a struggle ensued and Wooten threatened to stab the employee.

The suspect was detained and EGPD was contacted. An officer arrived and a search of Wooten led to the discovery of narcotics and narcotic paraphernalia.

Wooten was arrested and booked into the county jail and is ineligible for bail.
