Four Suspects Arrested By EGPD After They Attempt to Carjack 'For Sale' Car

Four Stockton men were arrested yesterday afternoon after they allegedly conspired to steal a car they were pretending to purchase.

According to Elk Grove Police, the 27-year old male victim agreed to meet 25-year old Ramiro Castellanos on the 8900 block of Grantline road to test drive and possibly purchase the car from the 27-year old male victim. After the test drive, Castellanos briefly walked away and another man, 27-year old Albert Zapata walked up the victim and demanded the vehicle and attacked him.

Assisted by two other suspects who blocked the victims car with their car, 24-year old Jose Ruiz and 24-year old Jessy Arceo, Castellanos got in the victim's car and drove away. The victim suffered visible injuries.

Elk Grove Police responded after receiving several calls regarding the altercation and were able to apprehend all the suspects. After being positively identifed, all four were taken to the county jail  were they remain in custody on carjacking and auto theft charges
