A routine traffic stop led to the arrest of an Elk Grove man who is on probation.
According to Elk Grove Police 24-year old Rowland yononie was operating a car near Fressia Dr. and Sheldon Rd. when he was stopped for a vehicle code violation. Upon contact the suspect displayed objective signs of impairment.
The suspect initially provided a false name to officers and a subsequent records check of his actual name revealed that he was on probation and had an active warrant out for his arrest. A search of Vononie and the car led to the discovery of narcotics.
Vononie was arrested and taken to the county jail.
