A UPS package car was robbed and the driver assaulted last night in Elk Grove.
According to Elk Grove Police, the package car was near Coop Drive and Rowser Drive when a car with two unknown male suspects starting flashing headlights. When the 34-year old male drive pulled over, the of of the suspects started talking to the driver while the other entered the vehicle through the passenger side.
The suspect who entered on the passenger side hit the driver in the face with a rock and demanded boxes from the Game Stop. The suspect and vicitm struggled and the suspect was able to rip open the boxes and removed the contents.
The assailant fled to a red Acura that was being driven by the other suspect who drove away from the area. The driver suffered visible injuries and was taken to an area hospital for treatment.
It is not know if other boxes were stolen.
