Wanted Elk Grove Man Crashes Car, Get Collared by K9

An Elk Grove man who apparently had previous run-ins with the law, ended up in the emergency room after crashing his car early Sunday morning.

According to Elk Grove Police reports, 31-year old Jeremiah Slate was operating his car when he committed an unspecified vehicle code violation. When officers attempted to stop Slate, he sped away leading officers on a two-and-half mile pursuit through residential neighborhoods.

Eventually Slate lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a fence on the 8600 block of Elk Way. Slate then reportedly left the vehicle and fled the scene on foot.

Officers deployed a K9 unit on the suspect who was quickly apprehended. After being treated at a local hospital for injuries he sustained after being collared, Slate was arrested and taken to the county jail.

A records check revealed that Slate also had active no bail felony out for his arrest.
