Shoplifters Lead Elk Grove Police on Vehicle Chase, Escape Capture

Two shoplifting suspects led a police on a vehicle chase from this store.

Two unknown suspects led Elk Grove Police on a vehicle chase Sunday afternoon after shoplifting from an Elk Grove retailer.



According to police reports, officers responded to a call for a shoplifting incident that had taken place at the Burlington Coast Factory on E. Stockton Blvd. Responding officers observed two unknown suspects described as a black female and male driving away in a green Infiniti.

Another officer located the vehicle near Sheldon Road and Highway 99 and attempted to make a vehicle stop. The driver did not stop and led officers on a 3.1 mile pursuit that ended near Center Parkway and Mack Road when both occupants left the vehicle and fled on foot.

Although a perimeter was established, the suspects were not located. The stolen merchandise was recovered and the car was towed.
