Sac PD helicopter helps locate
domestic violence suspect

An Elk Grove man was apprehended yesterday afternoon with assistance from the Sacramento Police Department helicopter following a domestic violence incident.

According to Elk Grove Police Department reports, officers responded to a domestic violence call yesterday afternoon and found the suspect, 20-year old Angel Barreno of Elk Grove had an active felony arrest warrant. Responding officers found that Barreno had fled the area on foot.

Officers established an area perimeter and with the assistance of the Sacramento Police Department's Air 1, located the suspect hiding in a nearby backyard. Barreno was arrested and transferred to the county jail.

Domestic Violence Suspect Calls Victim From Jail

An Elk Grove man, who was already jailed on suspicion of domestic violence, had further charges brought against him while being incarcerated.

The troubles for 18-year old Javon Miller started when police arrested him for a domestic violence on Wednesday. In that incident Miller was said to have grabbed the victim by hair and throw the victim to the floor.

Miller also punched his victim in the face causing visible injury. Miller was arrested and transferred to the county jail and the victim was issued an emergency protective order.

Subsequent to his incarceration, Miller allegedly contact his victim by phone in the county jail and thereby violated the protective order. Additional charges were filed against Miller for violating the order.

Stalker With Gun Arrested

A 46-year old woman was arrested last night after sending threatening text messages.

According to Elk Grove Police reports, suspect Christy Inskip was parked outside her victim's house and was sending him threatening messages. Responding officers located the suspect inside her car on the driveway of the victim's residence.

After detaining the suspect, a seach of Inskip's vehicle led to the discovery of a loaded handgun. Inskip was arrested and transferred to the county jail.

Elk Grove Man Arrested After Brandishing Gun in Front of Children

An Elk Grove man was arrested last night after he allegedly brandished a handgun in front of several children.

According to Elk Grove Police, officers responded to a 911 call in which a female caller indicated someone had a gun before the line went dead. It was determined the call had come from the 8800 block of Apple Pear Court.

Officers contacted the occupants of the house and determined that a verbal argument between 29-year old David English II when he pulled out a loaded handgun and displayed it in a threatening manner in front of the children and the victim.

Officers detained the suspect and found the handgun after a search of the house. English was arrested and transferred to the county jail and the victim was issued an emergency protective order.

In other activity, police arrested 28-year old Darnele Nelson of Elk Grove following a domestic violence incident. The suspect allegedly punched his victim in the face causing a visible injury.

A 17-year old male juvenile was also arrested for shoplifting at the Save Mart on Elk Grove-Florin Road. the suspect was released to his mother.

Busy Monday for EG Police

With activity more normally associated  with weekend, the Elk Grove Police made several arrests on Monday for alleged crimes including DUI drivers leaving accident scenes, embezzlement, domestic violence and outstanding warrants.

Police made two DUI arrest yesterday where both suspects left the scene of the accident.

In the first incident, officers arrested 35-year old Kyla Ramos on DUI charges after she allegedly struck a parked car. Responding officers located her a short distance away from the incident and arrested her.

In the second incident 40-year old suspect Robert Martinez of Elk Grove was arrested after officers responded to a call for a vehicle accident near Franklin Boulevard and Whitelock Parkway. The suspect reportedly was found standing outside his vehicle on Franklin Boulevard and Willard Parkway with a bent front driver's side tire rim and a flat tire.  

In the embezzlement case, officer's arrested 21-year old Ralph Gonzalez at the Target store located on Laguna Boulevard. One arrest was also made in a domestic violence case where the victim was struck several times in the head and two men with active warrants were arrested after a traffic stop.

Domestic Violence Incident Results in Injury, Arrest

An early Wednesday morning domestic violence incident led to the arrest of a male suspect after his victim sustained injuries.

According to Elk Grove Police Department reports, 30 year old Steve Hernandez and his victim were involved in verbal argument that escalated into a physical altercation. Hernandez allegedly punched the victim in the mouth which resulted in a visible injury requiring medical treatment.

Responding officers arrested the suspect and transferred him to the county jail. The victim was issued an emergency protective order.

Elk Grove Man Attacked Outside Home, Hit with Shotgun

An Elk Grove man was attacked by unknown assailants early Wednesday morning on the 2300 block of McKeon Court.

According to police reports, the victim was outside of his residence when he was approached by two suspects one of whom was armed with a shotgun. The suspects demanded entry to the victims residence and hit the victim in the face with the stock of the shotgun.

A struggle between the victim and gunman ensued over the shotgun and the victim was able to enter his residence after his roommate opened the door. The suspects fled in an unknown direction.

The victim sustained visible injures but did not require medical attention. The two suspects were described as Hispanic male and an African American male.

In other early morning activity, police arrested 44-year old Pshaughn Austin of Elk Grove following a domestic violence incident.

According to police reports, the victim was pushed to the ground and struck in the face with an elbow which resulted in visibly injuries. Austin was arrested and transferred to the county jail.

EG Police Make Two Domestic Violence Arrests

Elk Grove Police made arrest in two separate domestic vilence incidents yesterday.

In the first case, officers arrested 56-year old Jeanne Marholin of Elk Grove. The suspect was involved in a verbal altercation that escalated into a physical altercation.

Marholin reportedly threw a phone that struck her victim in the arm causing a minor injury. The suspect was arrested and transferred to the county jail.

In the other case, officers arrested 34-Miguel Romayer of Elk Grove. According to police reports the suspect stepped on his victim's feet several times and grabbed the victim by the neck and pushed their head into the wall.

When the victim attempted to call 911, Romayer allegedly grabbed the phone and threw it against the wall. The suspect was arrested and transferred to the county jail.

Cupertino Man Falls out of Car, Arrested for DUI

The expression falling down drunk took on a new meaning for a Cupertino man yesterday in Elk Grove.

According to Elk Grove Police reports, officers responded to a call from the Cosumnes Fire Department for assistance with a suspected DUI driver. Responding officers arrived at the 9600 block of East Stockton Boulevard and contacted 46-year old Barry Webb of Cupertino.

Webb had reportedly fallen out of his vehicle and was being treated by fire department medical personnel for abrasions to his arms and legs. The suspect showed object signs of impairment and was arrested.

In other activity, police arrested an Elk Grove man following a domestic violence incident early yesterday afternoon.

According to police reports, 26-year old Sachin Sewal was involved with a verbal argument with his victim that escalated into a physical confrontation. During the confrontation the suspect allegedly grabbed, pushed and punched the victim.

Sewal was arrested and transferred to the county jail and the victim was issued an emergency protective order.

EGPD Makes Two Domestic Violence Arrests Over Holiday Weekend

Elk Grove Police made two separate arrests over the three day Fourth of July holiday weekend for domestic violence incidents.

Early Saturday morning police arrested 43-year old Marcus Davis after he allegedly choked and punched his victim in the face after the escalation of a verbal argument. The victim reportedly suffered visible injuries.

Davis was arrested and transferred to the county jail and the victim was issued an emergency protective order.

On Monday morning 26-year old Eric Willis was involved in a verbal argument that reportedly escalated into physical confrontation. Willis allegedly kicked the victim in the stomach and slapped the victim on the face.

When the victim attempted to call 911, Willis reportedly through the victims cell phone over a fence breaking it beyond repair. The suspect was arrested and transferred to the county jail and the victim was issued an emergency protective order.
