Elk Grove Domestic Violence Incident Leads to Discovery of Stolen, Loaded Handgun

An early Sunday morning domestic violence incident led to the arrest of a probationer for possession of a stolen handgun.

According to Elk Grove Police, 25-year old Alantae Hemmingway was contacted regarding a report of a domestic violence incident at a residence on the 5300 block of Lake Pleasant Way. A consent search of the dwelling led to the discovery of a loaded handgun that had been reported stolen.

A records search also revealed that Hemmingway had two outstanding felony arrest warrants and was on probation. Further search led to the discovery of of two rifles, large amounts of live ammunition and a ballistic vest. 

Hemmingway was arrested and booked into the county jail where he was released on bail earlier today.
