Traffic Stop By Elk Grove Police Leads to Arrest of Suspect With Outstanding Warrants

A traffic stop yesterday morning led to the arrest of a suspect with outstanding arrest warrants.


According to Elk Grove Police, 36-year old Donny Vargas was operating a motor vehicle on the 8400 block of Modena Way when he was stopped for a vehicle code violation. Upon contact, the suspect provided false information to officers about his identity.

After they were able to properly identify the suspect, officers discovered there were two outstanding warrants out for his arrests. Vargas was arrested and is in custody at the county jail on a $95,000 bail for false impersonation, violating terms of his probation, and arrests warrants from Yuba County and the City of Marysville.
