Wanted Suspect Creates Disturbance, Apprehended by EGPD K-9

An Elk Grove man who created a disturbance Friday morning was apprehended by K-9 unit.

According to Elk Grove Police, officers responded to the 9000 block of Lordship Way regarding an in-progress disturbance. Once on the scene, officers determined that the suspect, 34-year old Michael Heer had an active felony out for his arrest.

Officers contacted Heer who refused to show his hands that were concealed. Heer refused to comply with instructions, so  an EGPD K-9 was deployed, and taken into custody.

The suspect was arrested and treated at a hospital for injuries sustained during the deployment. After being medically cleared, Heer was taken to the county jail where he remains in custody and is ineligible for bail for violating terms of his probation.
