An Elk Grove mother, who was accompanied by her daughter, was arrested late Friday afternoon on suspicion of shoplifting.
According to Elk Grove Police Department reports, 36-year old Stacy Smith was detained by loss prevention personnel at the Nugget store on Elk Grove Boulevard for shoplifting while she was with her 10-year old daughter. Responding officers arrested the suspect for petty theft and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
Smith was transported to the county jail and the juvenile was released to a relative.
