Perhpas it was bad meal or servic, but for whatever reason for the second time in less than two weeks, an Elk Grove chain restaurant was victimized by a phone-in bomb threat.
According to the Elk Grove Police Department, a male called the BJ’s Restaurant and Brewhouse on the 9200 block of Laguna Boulevard at approximately 4:30 PM yesterday saying there was a bomb inside the facility that would detonate in 25 minutes. The facility and surrounding businesses were immediately evacuated.
A search of the facility and the surrounding area did not reveal any explosive devices. The restaurant was reopened later.
On July 22, the Chili’s restaurant located on Laguna and Bruceville Road also received a phone-in bomb threat. Not explosive device was found during that incident either.
