Elk Grove Police Arrest Man in Stabbing Incident

Elk Grove Police arrested a man late last night on suspicion of stabbing another man during a physical altercation.

According to police reports, the two were involved in a verbal argument on the 10000 block of Willard Parkway that escalated in a physical confrontation. During the altercation, 19-year old Matthew Burke allegedly stabbed the 29-year old male victim in the leg and stomach.

The victim transported himself to a local hospital for treatment of his non-life threatening injuries. The suspect fled the scene and was later apprehended by officers inside an apartment.

Burke was arrested and transferred to the county jail.
