Elk Grove Man Charged With Domestic Violence

An Elk Grove man was arrested early Wednesday morning following a domestic violence incident.

According  to police reports, 29-year old Steven Gainer of Elk Grove was in a vehicle on the 7500 block of Laguna Boulevard and was involved in a verbal argument that escalated into a physical confrontation. The suspect allegedly reached across the center console and slapped the victim on the nose with an open hand.

Responding police officers arrested the suspect and was transferred to the mail jail. The victim was issued an emergency protective order.
